For many, the return of The Rolling Stones to the touring circuit was the musical highlight of the year.
And as the veteran rockers welcomed a string of A-list guests to the stage, their shows became that of legend.
But
it was their final performance in New Jersey that saw Lady Gaga, Bruce
Springsteen, The Black Keys and the blues-guitar duo of Gary Clark Jr.
and John Mayer, jam with the Stones to give fans an extra treat; with
celebrity photographer Terry Richardson there to capture some of the
intimate moments behind the scenes.

the scenes: Celebrity photographer Terry Richardson shares his back
stage photos of Lady Gaga with a string of rock legends
This
is a role Terry knows well, for it was he that spent a year traveling
with Gaga, documenting the experience in a photo-book dedicated to the
singer.
Lady
Gaga X Terry Richardson, features more than 450 photographs that take
the reader from Lollapalooza in August 2010 to the final shows of her
Monster Ball tour in 2011.
Taking on the same quality of his visual odyssey, the photographer shared on Twitter a mixture of colour and black and white photographs from the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey.

She's The One: New Jersey native Bruce Springsteen returned home to jam with The Rolling Stones along with Lady Gaga
With
the Born This Way singer as the subject of most, she is seen with the
Stones' guitarist Ronnie Wood and New Jersey native Bruce Springsteen.
Wearing
a variety of outfits that ranged from a simple vest to a racing stripe
catsuit, the one consistency in the portraits of Gaga was her poker
straight, blonde hair, fluttering false eyelashes and bee stung lips.
Looking like she had shed the 'boyfriend weight' the New Yorker looked fantastic, especially in monotone.

Bombshell: The Born This Way singer has been sporting bleached blonde hair extensions styled straight and long
On stage, Gaga was her typically exuberant self as she moved like Jagger with the full-lipped man himself to Gimme Shelter.
The
Boss lent his guitar prowess to Tumbling Dice, while the Black Keys
added oomph to the band's Bo Diddley cover of Who Do You Love.

Souvenir: Clearly a fan, Lady Gaga wasn't too proud to get a Forty licks leather jacket signed by the legendary British band

The guest support was rounded off by Gary Clark Jnr. and John Mayer who jammed with the ageing rockers on I'm Going Down.
Tired
from her performance, Gaga soon threw on a red Christmas jumper for
comfort, leaving her signed Forty Licks leather jacket to hang pride of
place in her dressing room.
And not long after, Terry
became the subject in his final photo, snuggling up to Gaga looking
like they were both looking forward to a good night's sleep.
