Former model Liv Tyler looks gorgeous at Proenza Schouler as she poses with Elizabeth Olsen for label's New York show

She began modelling at the age of 14 but gave it up to pursue acting.
So it was little surprise that Liv Tyler was turning heads at New York Fashion Week.
The 35-year-old actress and pal Elizabeth Olsen gave class to ladies in the front row as she posed at Proenza Schouler's presentation on Wednesday.

Liv and Elizabeth both wore palettes of blue and green for the event.
The Lord of the Rings star matched her teal handbag to a beautifully patterned A-line mini skirt that enhanced her sea blue eyes.

 

She paired the piece with a black sweater, tights and pointy-toed heels, and swept her raven hair off her face for an altogether polished appearance.
Elizabeth meanwhile wore her chestnut tresses in loose waves around her shoulders, and coordinated with Liv as the ladies posed for photos, wearing a blue and green ombre jacket with black leather straight-leg pants, black and white patterned pumps and a blue, teal, black and white clutch.

Backstage, the women posed with designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough.
And it seemed the group was pleased by the presentation - where Liv's eyes could be seen fixed on the label's latest looks - as they smiled for photos and enjoyed some post-show conversation.
Liv just last month returned to chilly New York after enjoying a Hawaiian holiday full of sunshine with her family.
Liv was in Hawaii over the New Year and rang in 2013 by watching her Aerosmith frontman father Steven perform at an event thrown by Alice Cooper.

She recently spoke out about her unusual upbringing with the famous rocker as her dad - perhaps one reason she seems to comfortable taking fashion risks.
'I had grown up with all these eccentric, wild people walking through our apartment,' she told Culture.com.
'There were rock stars, drag queens, models, bikers and freaks. By comparison, the kids at school seemed like people from another planet.
'I definitely sensed I was different from everyone else around me.'
