Rapper DMX arrested for driving without a license after officers pull him over with five-month-old daughter in the car

Rapper DMX has been arrested for driving without a license in Charlotte, South Carolina.
The 42-year-old, real name Earl Simmons, was taken into custody on Wednesday at approximately 2am after officers pulled him over at a local gas station.
He was released from Spartanburg Detention Center four hours later after appearing before a judge and paying a fine.
Police told Fox Carolina an officer saw the rapper driving a 1978 Buick and pulled him over for allegedly driving a license.
His five-month-old daughter and a licensed adult who took possession of the vehicle were with him at the time.
DMX, who recently relocated to the state, had previously been issued tickets in Greer and Duncan, police said.
A search of the South Carolina DMV database showed he only had a state-issued I.D.
DMX spoke to the news outlet as he left the police station, ranting about the time officers spent processing him through the system.
'They watched me at the gas station and get in the car,' he said, adding, 'They followed me around the corner, pulled me over, put the cuffs on me, and brought me here.
'I paid the money, when I could have just paid the money right there on the spot. Basically it was just five hours wasted for nothing. I don't have a court date or a court appearance.'

Although DMX has released seven albums - his most recent, Undisputed, last September - he has over the last few years become more famous for his arrest record and personal dramas than for his music.

In 2011 he spent seven months in an Arizona prison for violating his probation for drug-related probation violations including cocaine use.
The month after his release he was arrested for speeding after he was clocked driving 102mph in a Phoenix suburb.

The rapper was cited for criminal speed, driving on a suspended and revoked license and reckless driving.
He has a long record of arrests in Arizona for crimes that range from animal cruelty to reckless driving and weapons possession, and also served time in a Los Angeles County jail on a 2002 reckless driving charge.
He split from his wife Tashera in 2010 after 11 years of marriage as it was revealed he had fathered several children with other women.
Tashera has four children with DMX, while is he believed to have fathered six children with other women.
However, earlier this year the estranged couple appeared on VH1's Couples Therapy together.
Along with his music, DMX has starred in movies including action films Romeo Must Die (2000) and Cradle 2 The Grave (2003).
