He may play gruff Jack Donaghy in his hit show 30 Rock, but perhaps Alec Baldwin is more suited to play the heroic lead in a romance film.
Like a scene out of a movie, the 54-year-old actor caused a flashbulb frenzy when he swept fiancee Hilaria Thomas off her feet and into his arms to carry her up the red-carpet at the 65th Cannes Film Festival today.
The star was posing for photographers with his gorgeous bride-to-be and when they arrived at the end of the press line he suddenly picked her up and carried her up the stairs and into the theatre.

The heart-warming scene was reminiscent of some of the greatest Hollywood love stories ever translated to the screen.
Since beginning his romance with 28-year-old Thomas, Baldwin has clearly been smitten.
And it is no wonder why.

Thomas looked stunning in her long black lace gown at this evening's premiere of Moonrise Kingdom.
The gown accentuated the yoga instructor's sublime figure and clung to her body in all the right places.
Her elegant look was completed with a chic updo hairstyle and a striking swipe of scarlet lipstick on her mouth.

Meanwhile, Alec looked dashing in his navy blue tuxedo, complete with bow-tie.
Romance has certainly been in the air for the couple since they touched down into the French coastal city.
Yesterday, they looked keen to share their love with the world as they pose in a playful and flirty shoot after arriving at Nice airport.

The pair cuddled and kissed in a convertible car at the airport in the South of France ahead of travelling to the epicentre of the famous yearly festival.
Coincidentally, at the same time, a woman accused of stalking the actor was appearing in court in Manhattan.
Baldwin admitted taking the woman for a dinner meeting and it's said that she flew into a jealous rage upon hearing news of his engagement to Thomas.
Meanwhile Thomas and Baldwin are perhaps hoping for an extravagant wedding ceremony, judging by a request he made on Twitter.

He asked followers, perhaps jokingly: 'Anyone got a castle they're not using in September?'
And when a follower mocked the comedic actor, re-tweeting his comments and adding the line 's*** rich people say,' he added, 'OK...how about a big tent?'
The actor recently whisked his younger partner off for a romantic trip to Rome.
The couple were spotted kissing and strolling through the cobbled streets together, while Alec indulged in a spot of retail therapy - for himself.

Dutiful wife-to-be Thomas watched on as the Hollywood star perused a gentleman's clothing store and stocked up on threads.
It's been a hectic few weeks for TV star.
After proposing to Thomas earlier this month he became embroiled in his stalking drama.
It's also been confirmed that his NBC show will finish for good next autumn after a 13 episode final season.

Meanwhile, Baldwin is to reunite with Russell Brand in a new comedy movie.
The actor will team up with his 'Rock Of Ages' co-star again in 'Man That Rocks The Cradle', which tells the story of an overworked husband and father-of-four who employs a super-nanny he is told is a kid whisperer and will help ease his problems.
Arnold and Anne Kopelson are due to produce the New Line movie, which is based on a story by Josh Cagan and Rob McKittrick, Deadline reports.
Alec also looks set to work with his 'To Rome With Love' director Woody Allen on the helmer's next ensemble comedy, which is due to begin shooting in New York and San Francisco this summer.
Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett and British star Sally Hawkins have also both been linked with roles in the as-yet untitled film.
